Last updated: March 2nd, 2026

In our interview series, we talk to people about culture, sustainability, and personal growth at 91ɬ. This time, Sarah Hentrich, Senior People & Culture Manager at 91ɬ, gives us insights into her motivation, our corporate culture, and working in an impact-driven tech company.

Sarah Hentrich joined 91ɬ as Senior People & Culture Manager in October 2025 and enriches the team with her many years of experience. In her career to date, she has worked in various companies and gained extensive expertise in all key areas of modern human resources - from recruiting and personnel development to corporate culture and employee experience. Her particular focus is on creating a working environment in which people can grow, take on responsibility, and develop their strengths.

What convinced you to join 91ɬ back then - and what keeps you here today?

Above all, the combination of tech company and sustainability - for me, truly the best of both worlds. I wanted to work in an environment that uses technology to make a real, positive contribution.

I was also immediately drawn to the mindset of the people here. I had the feeling: This is right for me.

Here, I have the creative freedom I need: I can build things from the ground up and really help shape the development of 91ɬ.

It motivates me that we are helping companies to make their sustainability goals tangible and achievable in the first place. In short, we are building a solution that is needed, and we are doing so with a team that is a great fit on a personal level.

How would you describe our corporate culture in three words?

Warm, hands-on, and ambitious.

We have a trial and error mentality: if someone sees an approach that will help 91ɬ move forward, they are given the space to try things out, implement their own ideas, and take responsibility. It's not just about planning concepts, but actually implementing them and learning as you go.

At the same time, we strive for a healthy balance. It is important to us that work fits in with individual private lives and not the other way around. This flexibility shows that you can fulfill yourself professionally and develop without neglecting your private life or the things that are important after work.

We work remotely for the most part. In your opinion, what does it take to ensure that collaboration and team spirit still work?

Clear transparency and open exchange. Communication must be consciously designed.

Team events also play a major role, of course. These personal moments greatly strengthen the sense of unity and ensure that even when working remotely, we really feel like a team. That's why we at 91ɬ consciously plan offsite meetings several times a year.

Nowadays, many people want more than just a job; they want their work to be meaningful. How do you experience the impact of our work?

Our impact is seen on several levels. We help companies simplify processes so that they have more time for impactful sustainability work.

At the same time, there is a special vibe within the company itself: many like-minded people with similar values and a common goal. This creates a bond and makes our work particularly meaningful.

How does 91ɬ support employees in their professional and personal development, especially during the growth phase?

We have a development budget that allows everyone to develop individually.

Another particularly important factor is self-efficacy. Your work has a direct impact here - you can quickly see what you are achieving. Thanks to our growth, there are constantly new topics, new challenges, and a very steep learning curve.

In addition, we work with clear development plans to specifically promote professional and personal development.

What do you do to ensure that employees feel comfortable working for us - and what is particularly appreciated?

Feeling good and appreciated is not a coincidence, but the result of taking individual needs seriously.

Of course, we have a solid set of standard benefits - from fruit baskets and office dogs to €50 shopping vouchers.

But what is really appreciated is the flexibility that makes life easier in concrete terms. For us, a benefit is only valuable if it addresses the intersection of work and private life. This means that we don't focus rigidly on processes, but rather on how we can design working models that fit the respective stage of life.

Ultimately, it's about ensuring that everyone in the team feels truly seen and supported - regardless of whether they work remotely or seek direct interaction in the office.

What would you say to someone who is considering applying to work for us but is still hesitating?

If you can't tick all the boxes in the job advertisement, apply anyway! At 91ɬ, we say: “Hire attitude and train for skill.”

Personality, motivation, and enthusiasm for our mission are more important to us than a perfect resume. Many things can be learned - but attitude and values cannot.

Stop scrambling. Start proving.

Your next customer questionnaire, assessment, or audit doesn't have to be a fire drill. Get the platform that keeps proof ready for every request.
